About this event

In Mahayana Buddhism, "motes of dust" represent the immense, countless particles that symbolize the vastness of the universe. In the summer 1945 a group of young girls aged between 13 and 16 met at Carmadean’s Dance Camp a dance school in Ruidoso, New Mexico. For 4 weeks they danced, argued, told midnight stories and learnt about themselves. At 5:29 am on July 16, 1945, they were awoken by a large explosion, they rushed outside not knowing what had happened. The sky was bright and there was a strong smell of burning. 20 minutes later they were playing in the “warm snowflakes” and swimming in the local lake. This new play, combining drama and dance, is based on the true story of what happened to those girls and how a major historical event, that changed the way we look at the Universe, mirrored their own personal journey of discovery. Chiswick School Performing Arts are a multi-award winning group who are regulars at The OSO. Last year they performed the National Schools Theatre awards nominee production of Medea.
